Paramore is an American rock band formed in 2004 in Franklin, Tennessee. Fronted by Hayley Williams, the group originally included guitarist Josh Farro, his brother Zac Farro on drums, and bassist Jeremy Davis, with Taylor York joining as a touring guitarist in 2009 and becoming a full member in 2010. They broke into the mainstream with Riot! (2007), an album that yielded hits like Misery Business and helped define the era’s emo-infused pop-punk sound. Brand New Eyes followed in 2009, showcasing more mature songwriting and heavier textures. After changes in its lineup, Paramore released the self-titled album Paramore in 2013, which leaned toward indie rock and synth influences, and then After Laughter in 2017, blending alternative rock with new wave. The band returned with This Is Why in 2023, continuing to evolve and tour. Paramore has earned numerous awards and nominations and is regarded as one of the most influential American rock acts of the 21st century.
