The Kooks

The Kooks

The Kooks are a British indie rock band formed in Brighton, England, in 2004. The original lineup consisted of Luke Pritchard (vocals and guitar), Hugh Harris (guitar), Paul Garred (drums), and Max Rafferty (bass guitar). The band quickly gained attention for their catchy melodies, youthful energy, and eclectic sound that blended influences from rock, pop, reggae, and funk. In 2006, The Kooks released their debut album, *Inside In/Inside Out*, which became a major commercial success, especially in the UK. The album featured hit singles such as "Naive," "She Moves in Her Own Way," and "Ooh La," and helped establish the band as a key player in the mid-2000s British indie scene. Their follow-up albums, *Konk* (2008) and *Junk of the Heart* (2011), continued to chart well and demonstrated the band's evolving musical style. Despite going through several lineup changes over the years—most notably the departures of Rafferty and Garred—The Kooks maintained a strong fan base and consistent presence in the music industry. In subsequent years, they released albums such as *Listen* (2014), which saw them experimenting with a more soul and R&B-influenced sound, and *Let's Go Sunshine* (2018), a return to their indie pop roots. Throughout their career, The Kooks have toured extensively and built a reputation for dynamic live performances. Known for their melodic songwriting and charismatic frontman, Luke Pritchard, The Kooks remain an influential and enduring band in the British rock landscape.
