Orange Sector is a German electronic body music (EBM) band formed in Hannover, Germany, in the early 1990s. The core members, Martin Bodewell and Lars Felker, founded the project with a vision to create powerful, rhythmically driven electronic music inspired by early EBM pioneers such as DAF, Nitzer Ebb, and Front 242. The group quickly gained recognition in the underground EBM scene for their harsh, bass-heavy beats, aggressive vocals, and socially conscious lyrics delivered primarily in German. Their early releases, such as their debut album "Faith" in 1993 and the follow-up "Flashback" in 1994, established their reputation as purveyors of classic EBM sounds with a modern edge. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, Orange Sector released several albums and EPs, refining their style and occasionally experimenting with more melodic and industrial elements. Despite some lineup and label changes over the years, Bodewell and Felker maintained the band’s original spirit and energy. In the 2010s, Orange Sector experienced a resurgence in popularity as part of a broader revival of classic EBM and old school industrial music. New albums such as "Krieg & Frieden" and "Alarm" showcased the band's continued commitment to politically charged themes and driving rhythms. Known for their energetic live performances and minimalist aesthetic, Orange Sector remains a respected and influential name in the EBM scene, continuing to release new material and perform throughout Europe and beyond.
