MISSIO is an American electronic alternative duo formed in 2015 in Austin, Texas, by Matthew Brue and David Butler. The group is known for blending elements of electronic, rock, and pop music, often incorporating deeply personal and emotional themes in their lyrics. Matthew Brue initially started MISSIO as a solo project focused on expressive songwriting and experimental sounds. He later teamed up with David Butler, a friend and producer, to expand the project into a collaborative musical act. Their chemistry and shared artistic vision led to the creation of music that resonated with a wide audience. MISSIO rose to prominence with their breakout single "Middle Fingers" released in 2017, which became a hit on alternative radio stations and helped define their rebellious, honest, and introspective style. The track appeared on their debut album "Loner," released the same year under RCA Records. The album explored themes of addiction, self-identity, and personal struggle, striking a chord with fans around the world. Since then, MISSIO has released several albums and EPs, including "The Darker the Weather // The Better the Man" in 2019 and "Can You Feel the Sun" in 2020.
