Polygon Window was one of the aliases used by British electronic music producer Richard D. James, better known as Aphex Twin. Under this pseudonym, he released innovative techno and ambient music in the early 1990s, helping to shape the sound of the then-emerging IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) genre. The most notable release under the Polygon Window name was the 1993 album *Surfing on Sine Waves*, issued on Warp Records. The album was part of Warp’s Artificial Intelligence series, which aimed to highlight electronic music intended for home listening rather than the dance floor. With its intricate programming, atmospheric textures, and forward-thinking rhythms, the album became a landmark in electronic music. Although Polygon Window was a short-lived project, it demonstrated James’s ability to produce complex yet emotionally resonant music that blurred the lines between ambient, techno, and experimental sounds. Today, *Surfing on Sine Waves* is considered a classic of early 1990s electronic music and a key part of James’s influential and diverse body of work.
