Best selling Albums this week

Story by Ben Avery

09/02/2026

We’re disappointed that The Molotovs didn’t make it to number one this week with their debut album ‘Wasted on Youth’. It landed at a respectable number 3 though in the end. Lily Allen is back up to number 2 with West End Girl. Olivia Dean is back in pole position at number 1 following her award at the Grammys for best new artist.

Besides The Molotovs there were 5 other new entries. Octane by Don Toliver; Yeah Yeah Yeah by Cast; ‘And I’d do it again’ by Only The Poets; Wormslayer by Kula Shaker and The Accidental by Francis Rossi.

The Cast album, released on Manchester's Scruff of the Neck records, is their second in the last 2 years. Cast, formed in 1992 by John Power, after quitting as bassist from the legendary Liverpool group, The La’s. Cast released 4 albums before splitting in 2001. Since reforming in 2010 they have now released a further 4 albums.

Francis Rossi will be 77 this year. His latest album release by the South Londoner is his 5th solo work. He has also released 33 studio albums with Status Quo over a 60 odd year period. Francis met long term Quo collaborator Rick Parfitt, who sadly died in 2017, whilst they were both playing in different bands doing summer seasons at Butlins in Minehead.

Kula Shaker, the faux mystic hippies that emerged out of the 90 Britpop era are back with their latest offering. The amusingly titled Wormslayer is accompanied by an album title track single and an epic length video themed around the Warhammer game.
