Aussie band screensaver take on Europe.

Screensaver

Throwing off existential dread with hypnotic beats, punk energy, and swirling synths, screensaver explore themes of power, lies, and systemic failure through their maximalist post-punk. With a dancefloor pulse, krautrock backbone, and new wave sheen, their sound is dark yet undeniably danceable. Formed in 2016 as a trans-Pacific collaboration between Christopher Stephenson (Spray Paint/Exek) and Krystal Maynard (Bad Vision/Polo/Swim Team), the project evolved into a full band in Melbourne. The current lineup includes James Beck (drums), Dorian Vary (bass), and Jonnine Nokes (synth). Their 2021 debut Expressions of Interest earned strong international attention, followed by 2023’s Decent Shapes, which expanded their synth-driven post-punk and landed chart success and critical praise from outlets like NME, KEXP, and Rolling Stone Australia. In November 2025, they released their third album Three Lens Approach via Poison City, receiving widespread acclaim and heavy radio rotation, including on KCRW. Known for their intense live shows, screensaver have toured Australia extensively, completed US and UK/EU tours (including Gonerfest and Get Lost Fest), and shared stages with Tropical Fuck Storm, Party Dozen, and more. They return to the UK and Europe in May 2026.
