With their new single due to be released on 29th May 2026 Feral Family channel a dark musical energy through emotionally raw lyricism. Critically acclaimed for their expansive soundscapes and stadium-sized, post-punk intensity, the Yorkshire trio have drawn comparisons to early Muse and Bloc Party, as well as The Cult and Sisters of Mercy.

Is there such a thing as a ‘Simple Lie’? Released independently on May 29, 2026, Feral Family’s latest single explores this very question, perfectly illustrating what The Other Side magazine has described as “a unique ability to merge the personal and the epic, the introspective and the arena-ready.” Of the new track, frontman Jamie Lowe explains: “‘Simple Lie’ centres on that cold clarity in a relationship once the fog lifts on betrayal and deception. It lives in that moment—where love turns to resentment and the gloves finally come off.” Released in February this year, the band’s second EP carries the semi tongue-in-cheek title ‘…So Far Behind’. In keeping with this ‘also-ran’ theme, 2026 has already seen the band compete in Kerrang! Radio’s ‘The Deal’ for a chance to play Download Festival, as well as place in the Top 5 of a nationwide competition to support Only The Poets at Brixton Academy. Such growing recognition suggests they won’t remain underdogs for long. Radio support from BBC Introducing, Steve Lamacq (BBC 6 Music), and John Kennedy (Radio X) has helped bring the band to wider attention. Their music has featured on The Independent’s “Now Hear This” playlist and E4’s Made in Chelsea, and has received airplay on iconic US station KEXP. They have also been nominated twice consecutively for Radio Wigwam’s Indie Artist of the Year, while their previous release, The River, was named IndieXL’s Single of the Week. Feral Family play at The Polar Bear in Hull on 29th May and Sebright, in Hackney - London on 30th May
