Some big names in this weeks new album drop. Paul McCarney, Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Frey Ridings to name but a few.
Paul McCartney is back in the frame with The Boys Of Dungeon Lane, the Beatle’s landmark 20th solo album and a record steeped in the memories of his Liverpool upbringing. Drawing heavily from his childhood in Speke, McCartney recently reflected: “I used to live in a place called Speke which is quite working class. We didn't have much at all but it didn't matter because all the people were great and you didn't notice you didn't have much.” With seven UK Number One albums already under his belt, the question now is whether Macca can chalk up an eighth and prove once again that few artists can match his staying power. Elsewhere, another rock titan is entering the fray. Neil Young and The Chrome Hearts are set to drop As Time Explodes, a live collection captured on the 2025 Love Earth Tour. Expect fresh takes on fan favourites including ‘Harvest Moon’, ‘Vampire Blues’ and more, all delivered with the ragged, road-worn energy that continues to define Young’s live shows. Rising singer-songwriter Skye Newman is also ready to make her mark, expanding her acclaimed SE9 EP into a full release featuring six brand-new tracks. Meanwhile, Violet Grohl, daughter of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, steps into the spotlight with debut single Be Sweet To Me. The big question is whether she can convert the anticipation into a maiden Top 40 appearance. K-pop powerhouse aespa are aiming to make serious chart noise with second studio album LEMONADE. Billed as their most ambitious project yet, the record pushes their futuristic aesthetic even further, pairing slick production with bolder storytelling and a newfound confidence. One of the more intriguing releases of the week comes from Dogstar. The American alt-rock outfit, featuring actor and bassist Keanu Reeves, return with All In Now, a release likely to pique the interest of both rock fans and Reeves devotees alike. And that's not all. Also landing this week are Willie Nelson’s Dream Chaser, Labrinth’s Cosmic Opera Act II, Freya Ridings’ Mother Of Pearl and Kim Petras’ Detour, making for a packed release schedule with plenty vying for your attention.
