Review
"Stars of CCTV" by Hard-Fi is a gritty and infectious debut that captures the restless energy of suburban life in early 2000s England. With its raw production and street-smart lyrics, the album explores themes of boredom, frustration, and ambition with a working-class edge. Tracks like "Living for the Weekend" and the title track "Stars of CCTV" balance catchy hooks with a sense of urgency that makes the songs both relatable and anthemic. Blending indie rock, ska, and a hint of dance-punk, Hard-Fi crafts a sound that feels both nostalgic and fresh. It's a compelling and confident first effort that stands out for its honesty and pulse-pounding energy.

Much of the album was recorded in unconventional settings, including a converted minicab office in Staines, Surrey, where the band is from. This DIY approach contributed to the raw and energetic sound of the album. The album was produced by lead singer Richard Archer and Wolsey White.
