Paranoid

Black Sabbath

Review

"Paranoid" by Black Sabbath is a landmark album in the history of heavy metal, released in 1970 and packed with raw energy, dark themes, and iconic riffs. Featuring timeless tracks like "Iron Man," "War Pigs," and the title song "Paranoid," the album showcases the band's signature sound: Tony Iommi’s heavy guitar work, Geezer Butler’s thundering bass, Bill Ward’s powerful drumming, and Ozzy Osbourne’s haunting vocals. The songwriting explores war, insanity, and alienation, paving the way for generations of metal bands to come. Despite its quick production and relatively short length, "Paranoid" feels urgent and cohesive. Each track adds to the album’s menacing atmosphere while remaining memorable and accessible. A defining moment in rock history, "Paranoid" is both a product of its time and a timeless influence in heavy music.
