RAYE, born Rachel Agatha Keen on October 24, 1997, in Tooting, London, is a British singer, songwriter, and music producer known for her distinctive voice and genre-blurring sound. Raised in Croydon, South London, RAYE grew up in a musical household and began writing songs in her early teens. She attended the BRIT School, a prestigious performing arts academy, but left early to pursue a career in the music industry. RAYE first gained recognition in 2014 with her independent debut EP "Welcome to the Winter." In 2016, she released her breakthrough EP "Second," which included the hit single "I, U, Us." Her career further skyrocketed with collaborations on hits like "By Your Side" with Jonas Blue and "You Don't Know Me" with Jax Jones, the latter becoming a global dance anthem. Known for her versatility, RAYE has worked across a variety of genres, including pop, R&B, dance, and hip-hop.
