Radiohead

Radiohead is an English rock band formed in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, in 1985. The group consists of Thom Yorke on vocals, guitar, and keyboards; Jonny Greenwood on lead guitar and keyboards; Colin Greenwood on bass; Ed O'Brien on guitar and backing vocals; and Philip Selway on drums and percussion. Known for their innovative approach to music and their willingness to experiment with sound, Radiohead has consistently pushed the boundaries of contemporary rock and alternative music. The band released their debut single "Creep" in 1992, which became an international hit and brought them worldwide recognition. Their first album, *Pablo Honey*, followed in 1993, establishing them as a rising force in the alt-rock scene. However, it was their second album, *The Bends* (1995), that began to showcase their musical growth, blending emotional depth with complex arrangements. In 1997, Radiohead released *OK Computer*, a landmark record that explored themes of alienation, technology, and modernity, earning widespread critical acclaim and solidifying their status as one of the most important bands of their generation. Their shift toward experimentation continued with *Kid A* (2000) and *Amnesiac* (2001), which embraced electronic music, avant-garde influences, and abstract songwriting. Over the years, Radiohead has remained a vital force in music, producing albums like *Hail to the Thief* (2003), *In Rainbows* (2007), *The King of Limbs* (2011), and *A Moon Shaped Pool* (2016), which highlight their evolution and refusal to be confined by genre. The band has also been praised for their innovative approach to releasing music, including their pay-what-you-want model for *In Rainbows*, which was a groundbreaking move in the industry. Radiohead's music is often characterized by its emotional intensity, sonic experimentation, and socially conscious lyrics. The band has received numerous awards and accolades, including multiple Grammy Awards and their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019. Even decades into their career, Radiohead continues to be esteemed as one of the most influential and visionary bands in modern music.
