Sharon Van Etten
Sharon Van Etten is an American singer-songwriter and musician known for her deeply emotional lyrics and distinctive voice. She was born on February 26, 1981, in Belleville, New Jersey, and grew up in Clinton, where she developed an early passion for music. After briefly attending Middle Tennessee State University, she moved to New York City to pursue a career in music. Van Etten released her debut album *Because I Was in Love* in 2009, followed by *Epic* in 2010, which garnered critical acclaim. Her breakthrough came with *Tramp* in 2012, produced by Aaron Dessner of The National. Subsequent albums, including *Are We There* in 2014 and *Remind Me Tomorrow* in 2019, showcased her evolving sound, blending folk, rock, and electronic influences. Beyond her music career, Van Etten has ventured into acting, appearing in the Netflix series *The OA*, and has contributed to film soundtracks.
