Krept & Konan are a British rap duo from London, consisting of Casyo "Krept" Johnson and Karl "Konan" Wilson. They rose to prominence in the early 2010s with their mixtapes and unique style of blending UK rap and melody. The duo gained widespread attention with their 2013 mixtape "Young Kingz," which featured the popular track "Don't Waste My Time." The success of the mixtape helped them secure a record deal with Virgin EMI. In 2015, they released their debut studio album "The Long Way Home," which included collaborations with notable artists such as Ed Sheeran, Wiz Khalifa, and Jeremih. The album debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart, making history as the highest-charting UK rap album at the time. Krept & Konan are also known for their 2019 dual-release mixtapes "7 Days" and "7 Nights," which showcased their versatility by blending hardcore rap with smoother R&B influences. Their impact on the UK rap scene has been significant, earning them multiple awards, including a MOBO Award for Best Hip-Hop Act. Beyond music, they have ventured into business and community work, including launching their own restaurant and engaging in youth mentorship programs.
