The Wombats

The Wombats are a British indie rock band formed in Liverpool in 2003. The group consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Matthew Murphy, bassist Tord Øverland Knudsen, and drummer Dan Haggis. They met while studying at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and quickly gained attention for their energetic performances and catchy melodies. The band released their debut album *A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation* in 2007, which featured hits like *Let’s Dance to Joy Division*. Their follow-up albums, including *This Modern Glitch* (2011) and *Glitterbug* (2015), helped establish them as a staple of the indie rock scene. With their blend of witty lyrics, danceable rhythms, and infectious hooks, The Wombats continued to gain a dedicated global fanbase. In 2018, they released *Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life*, which was well-received and showcased their evolving sound. Their 2022 album *Fix Yourself, Not the World* debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, marking a career milestone. Over the years, The Wombats have toured internationally and remained a prominent force in indie music. Their electrifying live performances and ability to reinvent their sound have solidified their reputation as one of the genre's most enduring bands.
