Doves

Doves are an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1998. The band consists of Jimi Goodwin on vocals and bass, along with twin brothers Jez and Andy Williams on guitar and drums, respectively. Before forming Doves, the three musicians were part of the electronic music group Sub Sub. Doves released their debut album *Lost Souls* in 2000, which garnered critical acclaim and a Mercury Prize nomination. They followed up with *The Last Broadcast* in 2002, featuring the hit single "There Goes the Fear." Their third album, *Some Cities*, arrived in 2005, debuting at number one on the UK Albums Chart. In 2009, they released *Kingdom of Rust*, further solidifying their reputation for atmospheric and emotionally rich rock music. After a hiatus beginning in 2010, the band reunited in 2018 and released their fifth studio album, *The Universal Want*, in 2020. Known for their lush soundscapes and introspective lyrics, Doves remain one of the most respected bands to emerge from the British alternative rock scene.
