Divorce
Divorce is a British alternative country band hailing from Nottingham, formed in 2021. The quartet consists of vocalist and bassist Tiger Cohen-Towell, co-vocalist Felix Mackenzie-Barrow, lead guitarist Adam Peter-Smith, and drummer Kasper Sandstrom. The members met at the age of 16 through Nottingham's music scene, with each bringing diverse musical backgrounds to the group. The band's sound is a distinctive fusion of alternative country, folk, indie rock, punk rock, grunge, and shoegaze. They describe themselves as "Wilco meets ABBA," drawing inspiration from artists like Perfume Genius, Belle and Sebastian, and Queen. Their music is characterized by heartfelt storytelling, harmonious vocals, and an eclectic blend of genres. Divorce debuted with the single "Pretty" in 2022, followed by two EPs: Get Mean (2022) and Heady Metal (2023). Their debut album, Drive to Goldenhammer, was released on March 7, 2025, through Gravity Records. The album is set in a fictional town symbolizing the warmth and humanity of their East Midlands roots, blending personal exploration with quirky charm. The band has garnered critical acclaim for their dynamic live performances and unique sound. They have supported acts like Bombay Bicycle Club and Everything Everything, and have embarked on their own UK headline tours. Their ability to oscillate between tightly jagged rhythms and soaring choruses showcases their versatility and command over their craft.
