Jason Isbell

Jason Isbell is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist known for his work in rock, country, and Americana music. He was born on February 1, 1979, in Green Hill, Alabama. Isbell gained recognition as a member of the Southern rock band Drive-By Truckers, joining in 2001 and contributing to three of their albums before departing in 2007 to pursue a solo career. As a solo artist, Isbell has received widespread acclaim for his deeply personal and storytelling-driven songwriting. His breakthrough came with the album *Southeastern* in 2013, which addressed themes of personal struggle and redemption. Subsequent albums, including *Something More Than Free* and *The Nashville Sound*, have earned him multiple Grammy Awards. Isbell frequently collaborates with his band, The 400 Unit, and has been praised for blending rock, folk, and country influences in his music.
