Jason Isbell is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist known for his work in rock, country, and Americana music. He was born on February 1, 1979, in Green Hill, Alabama. Isbell gained recognition as a member of the Southern rock band Drive-By Truckers, joining in 2001 and contributing to three of their albums before departing in 2007 to pursue a solo career.
