The Slow Readers Club is an indie rock band from Manchester, England. Formed in 2009, the group emerged from the remnants of a previous band called Omerta. The current lineup consists of Aaron Starkie (vocals), Kurtis Starkie (guitar), James Ryan (bass), and David Whitworth (drums). Their music blends elements of indie rock, post-punk, and electronic influences, drawing comparisons to bands like Interpol and Editors. They gained a loyal fanbase through grassroots efforts and energetic live performances. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2011, followed by *Cavalcade* in 2015, which helped them attract wider recognition. The band's subsequent albums, including *Build a Tower* (2018), *The Joy of the Return* (2020), and *Knowledge Freedom Power* (2023), further solidified their reputation. The Slow Readers Club has built a strong presence through sold-out tours and appearances at major festivals.
