Prince Royce, born Geoffrey Royce Rojas on May 11, 1989, in the Bronx, New York, is an American singer and songwriter of Dominican descent. He is best known for his work in the bachata genre, blending traditional Latin rhythms with modern influences. Raised in a bilingual household, Royce developed a passion for music at an early age, writing poetry and songs as a teenager. He began his musical career in his teens, and by 2009, he had connected with producer Andrés Hidalgo and eventually signed with Sergio George’s Top Stop Music label. In 2010, Prince Royce released his self-titled debut album, which featured hit singles like "Stand by Me" and "Corazón Sin Cara." The album was a commercial success and helped establish him as a rising star in Latin music. His fusion of bachata with pop and R&B elements appealed to a broad audience, earning him critical acclaim and multiple awards. Over the years, Royce released several successful albums, including "Phase II," "Soy el Mismo," and "Double Vision," the latter being his first primarily English-language album. He collaborated with artists such as Shakira, Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, and Bad Bunny, further expanding his international reach. Prince Royce has received numerous accolades, including Billboard Latin Music Awards, Premios Juventud, and Lo Nuestro Awards. With his smooth vocals, heartfelt lyrics, and innovative approach to bachata, he remains a prominent figure in Latin music and continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
