Lord Huron
Lord Huron is an American indie folk band founded by singer-songwriter Ben Schneider in 2010. Originally from Michigan, Schneider began the project as a solo endeavor, recording music inspired by his travels, love of storytelling, and the natural landscapes of the American West. Lord Huron derives its name from Lake Huron, where Schneider spent time during his youth. After relocating to Los Angeles, Schneider expanded Lord Huron into a full band, bringing on Mark Barry, Miguel Briseño, and Tom Renaud. The group quickly gained attention with their debut EPs and immersive live performances that combined music with visual storytelling. In 2012, Lord Huron released their first full-length album, "Lonesome Dreams," which received critical praise for its cinematic scope and atmospheric soundscapes. The follow-up albums, "Strange Trails" (2015), "Vide Noir" (2018), and "Long Lost" (2021), further developed their signature blend of folk, rock, pop, and Western themes. Tracks like "The Night We Met" gained widespread popularity after being featured in television and film, significantly expanding their audience. Known for their evocative lyrics, layered instrumentation, and cohesive album concepts, Lord Huron has carved out a unique niche in modern indie music, blending the nostalgic with the surreal to create a sound that feels both timeless and contemporary.
