Miki Berenyi Trio

Miki Berenyi Trio

The Miki Berenyi Trio is a British alternative rock band formed by Miki Berenyi, the former frontwoman of the influential shoegaze band Lush. The trio emerged in the early 2020s, signaling Berenyi's return to making music after a long hiatus following Lush's initial breakup in the 1990s and a brief reunion in the mid-2010s. Comprised of Miki Berenyi on vocals and guitar, former Moose guitarist K.J. McKillop (also Berenyi's partner), and Modern English drummer Mick Conroy, the band draws on the rich sonic textures of Berenyi's past work while introducing fresh, emotionally resonant songwriting. Their music retains the shimmering guitars and ethereal vocals characteristic of shoegaze and dream pop but incorporates a more mature perspective shaped by personal growth and decades of experience. The Miki Berenyi Trio has been praised for its introspective lyrics, dynamic instrumentation, and the evocative voice that made Berenyi a genre icon in the 1990s. As of the early 2020s, they continue to write, record, and perform, offering fans a compelling continuation of the legacy first established with Lush while forging a distinct new identity.
