Viagra Boys
Viagra Boys are a Swedish post-punk band formed in Stockholm in 2015. Known for their raw energy, satirical lyrics, and gritty sound, the group has gained international attention for their irreverent style and high-intensity performances. The band's lineup includes Sebastian Murphy on vocals, along with musicians from Sweden's underground music scene, including members playing guitar, bass, drums, and saxophone, adding to their distinctive sound. The band burst onto the scene with their debut album *Street Worms* in 2018, which featured the breakout track "Sports," a song showcasing their dystopian humor and critique of toxic masculinity. Their music blends elements of punk rock, garage rock, and no-wave, often drawing comparisons to acts like The Fall and Iggy Pop, but with a unique twist rooted in absurdism and social commentary. Viagra Boys followed up with their second album *Welfare Jazz* in 2021, which further cemented their place in the punk rock world. The album, produced partly by Matt Sweeney, displayed more musical depth while maintaining the band's signature nihilistic wit. In 2023, they released their third album *Cave World*, a record that delves into themes such as conspiracy theories and the evolution of humanity, continuing their penchant for mixing humor with dark sociopolitical insights. With a reputation for chaotic live shows and a fiercely devoted fan base, Viagra Boys have established themselves as a bold and unfiltered voice in contemporary punk music.
