The Amazons
The Amazons are a British rock band formed in Reading, Berkshire, in 2014. The group consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Matt Thomson, guitarist Chris Alderton, bassist Elliot Briggs, and drummer Joe Emmett. Known for their energetic performances and anthemic sound, The Amazons quickly gained attention in the UK rock scene with their blend of alternative rock and indie influences. Their self-titled debut album, released in 2017, received critical acclaim and charted in the UK Top 10. It featured standout tracks like “Junk Food Forever” and “In My Mind,” showcasing their raw guitar-driven sound and emotionally charged lyrics. The band's music garnered support from major radio stations such as BBC Radio 1, helping them build a strong fan base. In 2019, The Amazons released their second album, “Future Dust,” which marked a darker, heavier turn in their sound, exploring themes of modern society, addiction, and personal growth. The evolution in their music demonstrated the band’s maturity and willingness to push creative boundaries. Continuing their momentum, The Amazons released their third album “How Will I Know If Heaven Will Find Me” in 2022.
