Loyle Carner

Loyle Carner is a British hip-hop artist and rapper known for his introspective lyrics and distinctive style that blends hip-hop with elements of jazz and soul. Born Benjamin Gerard Coyle-Larner on October 6, 1994, in South London, he grew up in Croydon and was raised primarily by his mother after the early death of his stepfather. His stage name, Loyle Carner, is a play on his own name and reflects his experiences with dyslexia and ADHD. Carner began gaining recognition in the early 2010s with his emotionally honest and personal music that often touches on themes of family, identity, mental health, and personal growth. His debut EP, "A Little Late", released in 2014, set the tone for his future work and established him as one of the UK’s most promising new voices in rap. In 2017, Carner released his debut studio album, "Yesterday's Gone", which was nominated for the Mercury Prize and praised for its warmth, sincerity, and lyrical depth. The album includes heartfelt tributes to his family and late stepfather, showcasing his unique ability to blend storytelling with poetic expression.
