Claudia Brücken
Claudia Brücken is a German singer and musician best known as the lead vocalist of the synth-pop band Propaganda. Born on December 7, 1963, in Berching, Bavaria, West Germany, she became involved in music at a young age and began her career performing in local bands before gaining prominence in the 1980s. Brücken joined Propaganda in 1983, and the group quickly attracted attention for their electronic sound and association with the influential ZTT Records label. Their debut album, "A Secret Wish," released in 1985, was both a critical and commercial success, featuring the hit singles "Duel" and "Dr. Mabuse." Brücken's distinctive voice and style were central to the band's identity during this period. After leaving Propaganda in the mid-1980s, she formed the duo Act with Thomas Leer. Together, they released the album "Laughter, Tears and Rage" in 1988. In the following years, Claudia pursued a solo career, releasing her debut solo album "Love: And a Million Other Things" in 1991. Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, Brücken continued to work on various musical projects, including collaborations with artists such as Paul Humphreys of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. The duo, performing under the name OneTwo, released the album "Instead" in 2007. She also revisited her past work through live performances and retrospective releases. Claudia Brücken remains an influential figure in the electronic and new wave music genres, known for her emotive vocal style and contributions to avant-garde pop music.
