Laufey

Laufey is an Icelandic-Chinese singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist known for her unique blend of jazz, classical, and pop influences. Born in Reykjavík, Iceland, Laufey Lín Bing Jónsdóttir was raised in a musical household, with her mother being a classical violinist. She began playing the cello and piano at a young age and was deeply influenced by jazz vocalists such as Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday, as well as classical composers like Ravel and Chopin. Laufey first gained attention in 2020 with her debut single "Street by Street," which went viral online and showcased her signature sound — a fusion of vintage jazz stylings with a modern lyrical sensibility. In 2021, she released her debut EP "Typical of Me," followed by her full-length album "Everything I Know About Love" in 2022, which received critical acclaim for its soulful melodies and nostalgic yet fresh approach.
