Asteria (born Matthew Joines on May 27, 2006, in New Zealand) is a 19-year-old artist currently based in Warsaw, Poland. Known for his innovative fusion of hyperpop and sigilkore, Asteria has quickly become a standout voice in digital music. His tracks feature chaotic, high-energy beats, repetitive hooks, and a unique visual and auditory style that resonates with internet culture and anarchist themes. Asteria began mixing beats for others in 2021 and released his first song, Paranoid, in 2022 at just 16 years old. His breakthrough came in 2023 with the track What You Want! featuring Hatsune Miku, blending digital surrealism with energetic soundscapes. In 2023, he founded Anarchist Sanctuary, further establishing his experimental and energetic sound.
