Young Thug, born Jeffery Lamar Williams on August 16, 1991, in Atlanta, Georgia, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter known for his distinctive vocal style and fashion-forward image. He rose to prominence in the early 2010s with a series of successful mixtapes, including *1017 Thug* in 2013, which drew critical acclaim for its unconventional flow and innovative approach to trap music. Growing up in Atlanta's Sylvan Hills neighborhood, Young Thug was the second youngest of eleven children. He began his musical career in collaboration with rapper Gucci Mane's label, 1017 Brick Squad, and quickly built a reputation for his unique blend of melody and rhythm.
