Vendredi sur Mer

Vendredi sur Mer is the stage name of Charline Mignot, a French-Swiss singer, songwriter, and visual artist known for her cinematic blend of synth-pop, poetic lyrics, and sultry vocals. Born in 1995 in Geneva, Switzerland, Mignot initially pursued a career in photography before turning her attention to music. Her artistic background plays a significant role in her work, influencing both her visual aesthetic and lyrical storytelling. She adopted the name Vendredi sur Mer, which means "Friday at Sea," to evoke a dreamy, escapist atmosphere reflective of her music's tone. After moving to Paris, she began collaborating with French producer Lewis OfMan, who helped shape her signature sound—an intoxicating mix of '80s-inspired synths, spoken-word poetry, and electronic beats. Her debut EP "Marée Basse" was released in 2017 and quickly drew attention for its romantic, stylish flair. In 2019, she released her first full-length album, "Premiers Émois," which received critical acclaim for its lush production and intimate exploration of love, identity, and emotional vulnerability. She followed it with her second album, "Métamorphose," in 2021, further cementing her status in the modern French pop scene. Vendredi sur Mer continues to captivate audiences with her distinct aesthetic, lyrical depth, and a musical style that merges vintage influences with contemporary sensibilities.
