Faithless
Faithless was a British electronic music group formed in 1995, best known for their blend of trip hop, trance, and dance music. The core members were Rollo Armstrong, Sister Bliss, and Maxi Jazz. The group gained international fame with their 1996 hit single "Insomnia," which became a club classic and charted across Europe. Their debut album, *Reverence*, established their sound—moody, spiritual lyrics combined with pulsating beats. Over the years, Faithless released several successful albums, including *Sunday 8PM* (1998), *Outrospective* (2001), and *No Roots* (2004), featuring tracks that often addressed political and social issues. They became known for their powerful live performances and ability to bridge genres, appealing to fans across the electronic and alternative music scenes. Maxi Jazz’s commanding presence as a spoken-word vocalist added a unique depth to their music, while Sister Bliss provided the band’s musical core with her skills as a composer and keyboardist. Rollo, who also co-produced many of the band’s tracks, played a crucial role in shaping their sound. Faithless disbanded in 2011 following a farewell tour but reunited periodically for special releases and performances. Maxi Jazz passed away in 2022, marking the end of an era for the group. Despite this, the legacy of Faithless endures through their influential music and the lasting impact they had on the electronic music landscape.
