White Lies

White Lies is an English post-punk band formed in Ealing, London, in 2007. The group consists of Harry McVeigh (lead vocals, guitar), Charles Cave (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Jack Lawrence-Brown (drums). Known for their dark, melodic sound and introspective lyrics, White Lies emerged on the British music scene with a blend of post-punk revival, alternative rock, and synth-pop influences. Originally performing under the name Fear of Flying, the band adopted the name White Lies in 2007 as they shifted toward a darker, more mature musical style. Their debut album, "To Lose My Life," was released in 2009 and debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, establishing them as a prominent force in alternative rock. The album was met with critical and commercial success, drawing comparisons to bands like Joy Division, Interpol, and Editors. They followed up with a series of well-received albums including "Ritual" (2011), "Big TV" (2013), "Friends" (2016), "Five" (2019), and "As I Try Not to Fall Apart" (2022). White Lies have been praised for their atmospheric soundscapes, brooding lyricism, and energetic live performances. Over the years, the band has maintained a loyal fan base and continued to evolve their sound while maintaining the emotional depth and intensity that first brought them acclaim. White Lies remain a significant presence in the modern British rock scene.
