Louis Tomlinson is an English singer, songwriter, and television personality. He was born on December 24, 1991, in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England. Louis first gained widespread fame as a member of the internationally successful boy band One Direction. Before finding fame, Louis performed in school musicals and auditioned for various television roles. His big break came in 2010 when he auditioned as a solo contestant on the British television music competition The X Factor. Although he was eliminated during the competition, he was brought back to form a group along with Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik. The group became known as One Direction and went on to finish in third place on the show. Despite not winning, they quickly signed a record deal and became one of the best-selling music acts of the decade. After One Direction began an extended hiatus in 2016, Louis launched his solo music career. He released singles such as Just Hold On with DJ Steve Aoki, Back to You featuring Bebe Rexha, and his debut solo album, Walls, in 2020.
