The iconic Regent Sounds Studio on Denmark Street, London - once home to recordings by Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie and the Rolling Stones - is being revived in a £6 million renovation project. The restoration aims to preserve the building’s history while creating a modern hub for music and musicians.

Regent Sounds Studio, one of London’s most historic recording spaces, is set to reopen after decades of silence. The Denmark Street venue, which hosted sessions from some of the greatest names in rock history, is undergoing a major £6 million renovation. The project will restore key elements of the original studio, including walls, flooring and vintage recording equipment, while upgrading facilities to meet modern standards. Alongside the studio revival, the Regent Sounds guitar shop - a fixture of the area - is being expanded to four times its previous size. The new shop will feature soundproof booths where musicians can test instruments without distraction. Work on the guitar shop is expected to finish first, with the studio following within the next year. Once complete, Regent Sounds will seamed as both a working recording studio and a living monument to Britain’s rich music heritage. This restoration marks a significant moment for Denmark Street - reinforcing its legacy as a centre for creativity and music history.
