Texas-born, river-raised country musician Joe Buchanan has released his highly anticipated third album, ‘Heaven & Earth’, a collection that seamlessly blends the heart of Texas country with the soul of Jewish tradition. Leading up to the album, Joe shared the deeply personal and emotionally charged single, ‘My Beloved’. Reflecting on the inspiration for the single, Joe says: “I wrote ‘My Beloved’ as a tribute to classic country love songs. My wife and I are celebrating 26 years of marriage this year, and I wanted to capture the enduring love, partnership, and joy of finding your perfect dance partner. Life hasn’t always been easy, but we’ve held on to each other through every twist and turn.” The song is rooted in timeless love, drawing from the Hebrew phrase “Ani l’dodi v’dodi li” (“I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine”) from the Song of Songs. Joe adds, “It’s a classic country ballad, perfect for swaying in a Texas dance hall or right in your kitchen." ‘My Beloved’ is just one part of ‘Heaven & Earth’, Joe’s third record that balances personal storytelling with the rich sounds of country music. From the Friday-night energy of ‘Good Times’ to the delicate narrative of ‘Jasmine Wind’, and the foot-stomping fun of ‘You Ain’t Got The Stones’, the album showcases Joe’s talent as both a songwriter and musician. More than an album, ‘Heaven & Earth’ is a celebration of Texas country spirit intertwined with Jewish tradition—music that uplifts, connects, and opens doors across cultures. Beyond his own music, Joe is collaborating with fellow artists to advocate for the first Jewish music category at the Grammys, further bridging these worlds.
