Rae Sremmurd is an American hip-hop duo composed of brothers Khalif "Swae Lee" Brown and Aaquil "Slim Jxmmi" Brown. Hailing from Tupelo, Mississippi, they rose to prominence in the mid-2010s with their energetic style, catchy hooks, and party anthems. The name Rae Sremmurd is derived by reversing the words "Ear Drummers," the name of their record label headed by producer Mike Will Made It. The duo gained widespread recognition with their debut single "No Flex Zone" in 2014, which was followed by the hit "No Type," further solidifying their presence in the hip-hop scene. Their debut album, *SremmLife*, released in 2015, received commercial success and critical praise for its infectious energy and versatility. Rae Sremmurd continued their success with the release of *SremmLife 2* in 2016, which included the chart-topping single "Black Beatles" featuring Gucci Mane. The song became a cultural phenomenon and contributed to the viral Mannequin Challenge, earning the duo mainstream acclaim. In 2018, they released a triple album called *SR3MM*, which consisted of one group album and two solo albums—Swaecation by Swae Lee and Jxmtro by Slim Jxmmi. This project showcased their individual talents while maintaining their collaborative chemistry. Known for their high-energy performances and genre-blending sound, Rae Sremmurd has continued to influence modern hip-hop with their innovative approach and youthful spirit. Their work bridges trap, pop, and R&B influences, and they remain a prominent force in contemporary music.
